The Fairest 'Snow White'

The movie I have been waiting for all year, Snow White & the Huntsman , is the perfect blend of action/adventure, drama, and '80s Labyrinth -ian fantasy. The most stunning fairy tale portrayal on film that I've seen, Rupert Sanders brings us ravishing cinematography, and battle scenes that favor realism over the glorification of gore. Theron puts Julia Roberts in that excuse for a 'Snow White' picture this year - Mirror Mirror - to shame . Academy Award winning costume designer Colleen Atwood's work is mesmerizing, and I want the evil queen's spiked accessory line. Kristen Stewart as the heroine Snow White evokes not only pure beauty, but projects the courage and realness that the princess attains, and that which she needs to restore the wounded kingdom. 'Young Adult' Section, Please

Dynamic duo Diablo Cody ( Juno , United States of Tara )and Jason Reitman ( Juno , Up in the Air ) strike again with their latest dark comedy Young Adult . The film follows a woman ( Charlize Theron ) who is immensely screwed up and enigmatic to watch, though may be viewed as a modern monster (but, only because she's a woman). Theron gives her best on-screen work since 2003's Monster as the unapologetic writer who struggles with her status as a young adult, while taking swigs from her buddy Patton Oswalt 's ( United States of Tara ) "Star Wars juice," and destroying every person who gets in the way of marriage-reassignment with a high school ex. Equipped with a '90s college rock soundtrack, watch as Theron returns home and shakes the town up.
