Dynamic duo Diablo Cody ( Juno , United States of Tara )and Jason Reitman ( Juno , Up in the Air ) strike again with their latest dark comedy Young Adult . The film follows a woman ( Charlize Theron ) who is immensely screwed up and enigmatic to watch, though may be viewed as a modern monster (but, only because she's a woman). Theron gives her best on-screen work since 2003's Monster as the unapologetic writer who struggles with her status as a young adult, while taking swigs from her buddy Patton Oswalt 's ( United States of Tara ) "Star Wars juice," and destroying every person who gets in the way of marriage-reassignment with a high school ex.
